The tornado destroyed a permanent home and a mobile home. Major damage occurred to two other permanent homes. The sole fatality occurred about midway between Gatewood and Briar, where a two-story house was destroyed. The victim was sleeping on the second floor at the time.

2006Dense Fog in Texas, November 27, 2006

Fog became locally dense across the extreme southwestern South Plains during the morning hours of the 27th. Motorists experienced near-zero visibilities in portions of Yoakum County, and this resulted in at least three automobile accidents. No injuries were reported.

Localized dense fog developed on interstate 86 just east of Pocatello to the Pocatello airport exit and a 30 vehicle crash occurred with multiple injuries and one death involved.
