Terms of Use
Last updated 28 August 2026
WeatherOverTime is free, and provided as it is, for information and interest. Using it means accepting the terms below. The first one is the one that matters.
Not for decisions about your safety
Do not use this site to decide whether you are safe. Radar shows what a beam measured minutes ago, at a height that grows the further you are from the antenna. It can be wrong, late, incomplete or missing entirely. Warnings shown here are copies of products issued by other people, and they may arrive late or not at all.
For decisions about your safety, follow the National Weather Service, official emergency alerts and your local emergency management. Nothing here replaces them.
The data is not ours
Radar, warnings, satellite imagery and forecast output are produced by NOAA, the National Weather Service, NASA and the Iowa Environmental Mesonet. Work by the United States government is generally in the public domain. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, used under the Open Database License. This site decodes and draws that material and claims no ownership of it. Credit is shown in the app and in the footer of every page.
No warranty
The site is provided as it is and as available, without warranties of any kind, whether stated or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy. It may go down. Sources fail, radars go offline for maintenance, and the archive has gaps that are not ours to fill.
Limits of liability
As far as the law allows, the operator of this site is not liable for any loss or damage arising from using, or relying on, anything shown here. That includes damage to property, injury, and losses arising from decisions made about weather.
Fair use
You agree not to:
- run automated tools against the site in a way that slows it down for other people, or put automated load on it rather than fetching from the public sources directly;
- try to break into, probe or interfere with the service;
- present images from this site as an official product of the National Weather Service or any government agency.
Screenshots and shared links are welcome, including in news and commercial use, as long as the data source is credited.
Changes
These terms may change, and the date at the top of this page changes with them. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting it.
