This tremor, centered in southeastern Canadian County, might be considered an aftershock to the magnitude 5.0 quake that shook the same area two days earlier. Two additional 3.8 aftershocks would hit the same area four days later, on the night of April 15th.

On the 11th a man died in strong currents while snorkeling inside the reef near the Shark's Hole, which isnorth of Tanguisson Beach. The 55 year old Rand R. Rihle of California was snorkeling with a friend when strong currents swept them outside the reef.

An 18 year old was swimming off of Whitecap Beach at North Padre Island when he was caught in a strong rip current. Multiple agencies joined in search efforts through the weekend. The body was found near Bob Hall Pier Sunday afternoon on the 14th.
