Strong winds with a thunderstorm downed trees and damaged several buildings in Prattville. The swath of damage ran from about Autauga Creek near Prattville City Hall to the Prattville Primary School on Wetumpka Street. Other reports of damage came from the east side of Prattville near the K-Mart Shopping Center. Damage seemed to be confined to a four or five block radius according to Prattville police. Power was out to the downtown area of Prattville for several hours. Roofs of several downtown homes and businesses were reported damaged.

A mobile home was completely deroofed and two other mobile homes were damaged in extreme southeast Shelby County about six miles southeast of Shelby. There were no injuries. Based on a storm survey and reports witnesses, it was most likely a straight-line wind event.

What appeared to be a small tornado damaged a section of Elmore County from Millbrook to Elmore in the western part of the county. The area affected paralleled Highway 14. Aluminum skirting was ripped off about 20 mobile homes at one mobile home park, and numerous trees and power lines were downed in the area.

Winds with a thunderstorm tore off a portion of the roof at the Underwood School in Petersville. The storm blew away the tar-and-gravel roof covering four classrooms in the school's annex. A large light fixture fell from the ceiling in one room and ceiling tiles fell in another classroom. The students were not in the classrooms affected when the winds struck.

An employee of the Still Waters Resort on Lake Martin was injured when the top of a tree was broken off by strong wind. The broken portion of the tree landed where two or three employees were standing. One employee was struck in the head by the falling tree and required hospitalization. Several other trees in the area were blown down by the wind, but no property damage was reported.

A weak tornado downed numerous trees and damaged four houses in the Lakeview area near Lanett in Chambers County. An eyewitness reported seeing a funnel cloud bobbing up and down from the sky producing an intermittent track of damage. Damage was reported to be minor to the four houses.
