- Strong Wind in California, November 2 to 5, 2024Strong swell waves in the eastern Pacific resulted in two fatal boating accidents in the waters off the North Bay.
- High Wind and Strong Wind in California, March 21, 2023A rapidly intensifying cyclone brought high winds to the region. A High Wind Warning was issued for the San Mateo Peninsula Coast, the Santa Cruz Mountains, and the Central Coast.
- Strong Wind in South Carolina, March 27 to 28, 1996Gale force winds developed by early afternoon on March 27 and continued through the night. A research vessel doing soil samples off the coast of Beaufort capsized during the night of 3/27 or early morning on 3/28. All five passengers on board drowned.
- Strong Wind in California, November 9, 2008Strong winds ahead of an approaching storm system buffeted the Mojave Desert, raising areas of blowing dust. Poor visibility contributed to a 13-vehicle pileup on Interstate 40, killing four people.
- Tornadoes and Damaging Winds in Alabama, March 3, 2023A prolonged damaging gradient wind event combined with an intense squall line during the daylight hours of the 3rd to produce widespread wind damage and impacts to the region. Numerous power outages resulted from power poles being snapped and power lines being brought down.
- Strong Wind in Delaware, March 8, 2008A line of severe thunderstorms that accompanied a cold frontal passage produced wind damage across northern Delaware during the late afternoon of the 8th.
- Strong Wind in Washington, April 30, 2010Strong winds and the resulting waves capsized an 18 foot fishing boat on Lake Celilo near Wishram. Four people were thrown off the boat. Three people drowned and 1 person suffered minor hypothermia.
- Strong Wind in New Mexico, May 24, 2015The wet May pattern continued as yet another round of scattered showers and thunderstorms developed over central New Mexico. This activity produced gusty and erratic outflow winds along with heavy rain and small hail across the Albuquerque Metro Area during the afternoon hours.
- Debris Flow and High Wind in California, October 14 to 16, 2016Two low pressure systems brought a combination of strong winds and significant rain and high elevation snow on the 14th and 15th.
- Strong Wind in Minnesota, December 9, 2023Strong winds developed as low pressure deepened and moved across Minnesota toward the Great Lakes.
- Tornadoes and Hail in Georgia, May 10 to 12, 2008A stationary front was draped across north Georgia early on May 10th with an active northwest flow aloft. Meanwhile...a vigorous short wave aloft was approaching the area from the southern plains.
- High Wind and Strong Wind in Arkansas, January 29, 2008A strong cold front approached from the Plains during the morning of January 29th. The front arrived during the early afternoon hours, and winds shifted to the northwest. Wind speeds of 30 to 40 mph were common, with gusts over 50 mph. Approximately 80,000 power outages occurred.
- High Wind and Strong Wind in Washington, August 29, 2015High wind struck parts of Western Washington beginning around mid morning on Saturday August 29th and continued into the afternoon hours. Widespread tree damage and power outages occurred, about 450,000 in total.
- High Wind and Strong Wind in Washington, October 25, 2014A powerful autumn wind storm rolled through most of Western Washington Saturday evening, bringing wind gusts of 50-60 mph and knocking out power to over 150,000 people.
- Flash Flooding and Strong Wind in Georgia, September 16 to 17, 2020A weakening Tropical Storm Sally moved into Georgia on September 16th, spreading heavy rainfall amounts and producing damaging winds in north and central Georgia.
- Winter Storm and High Wind in Vermont, December 21 to 23, 2012A strong, complex, dual area of low pressure from the Great Lakes to the New Jersey coast on the morning of December 21st eventually lifted north across New York into Quebec by December 22nd.
- Flash Flood and Damaging Winds in Mississippi, March 4, 2025A line of severe storms pushed across the region and produced damaging wind gusts that downed trees and power lines, and damaged several structures. Ahead of the storms, strong gradient winds also produced damage to a similar degree.
- Wildfire and Strong Wind in California, November 20 to 22, 2013Strong winds gusted across the greater Bay Area during the evening and overnight hours of November 21 into the early morning of November 22.
- Blizzard and Coastal Flood in Massachusetts, March 26, 2014A large ocean storm intensified very quickly off the east coast of the United States. This storm brought extremely strong winds (gusting to over 80 mph) and heavy snow to the Cape and Islands.
- Strong Wind in North Carolina, September 15 to 16, 2018Tropical Cyclone Florence made landfall on the 15th and moved slowly west while weakening through the 16th. Gusty winds resulted in a few trees and power lines falling across portions of western North Carolina, with some trees falling on vehicles and structures.
- High Wind and Strong Wind in California, April 12, 2007The same low pressure system which brought isolated high winds on the 11th caused widespread strong winds and many areas of blowing dust in the Mojave Desert.
- Tornado and Winter Storm in California, January 7 to 12, 2023A major winter storm brought strong winds with moderate to heavy rain bringing renewed flooding of already elevated waterways. There was flooding of roadways, urban areas, rivers, streams and creeks, with rockslides and mudslides also reported.
- Strong Wind in North Carolina, December 9, 2009A powerful upper level disturbance combined with an arctic cold front resulted in wind gust of 45 to 55 mph across central North Carolina. Numerous trees were blown down across the area resulting in power outages and minor propery damage.
- Strong Wind in Texas, December 2, 2003A strong gust of wind resulted in a fatal motor vehicle accident in which two people were killed and two people were injured.
- Winter Storm and Strong Wind in California, October 27 to 28, 2013Ahead of a low pressure system, strong onshore winds caused for travel disruption for Northern California. The system then dropped over a foot of snow for the Sierra at higher elevations as it passed through the region.
