One such incident resulted in a fatality in Vicksburg where a woman succumbed to an injury after she was struck by a large tree limb.

Water vapor/evening upper air analysis indicates shortwave ridging
building across the region this evening, in advance of amplifying
longwave trough & deepening frontal system across the lee of the
Rockies. This is helping induce a northeast lifting warm front
moving into central Texas & the Gulf Coast, where more deep
boundary layer moisture resides (i.e. >60F dewpoints). In our
area, as low-level return flow strengthens overnight, dewpoints
will climb currently in the 30s into 50-55F range west of I-55
& southwest of Hwy 49 corridors. PWs are around the 0.6 to 1.0
inch range & will only slowly climb, mainly west of I-55 as moist
advection picks up. This will keep a dry night across the area but
cloud coverage high overnight. Lows will be seasonably warm, some
8-15F above (46-52F east of I-55 & 53-57F to the west). As the
sfc low deepens over the central Plains in west-central KS around
daybreak, sfc pressure gradient will tighten to nearly 5-6mb,
keeping winds up, with potential sustained sfc winds up to 20mph
& gusts around 25-30mph at times. /DC/

Through Tuesday night: Primary concerns for impacts continue to be
for tomorrow when there will be an enhanced risk for severe
weather and an elevated threat for strong gradient winds outside
of storms.
The forecast and messaging for impacts related to a powerful
trough moving into the Mississippi Valley region Tuesday are
holding steady with severe weather timing mostly locked in for the
afternoon to early evening hours. With that said, instability
continues to be a question mark, and it is something we will
likely not have a good handle on right up until the onset of the
event in our area. Past historical analogs (e.g., SLU CIPS) with
less dynamics/shear have produced more significant severe weather
than we expect with tomorrow's event, but those events had
considerably more boundary layer moisture and instability to work
with. This will be a fast-evolving scenario and we'll be
monitoring the guidance/obs as we get closer, so stay tuned for
any adjustments.
In any case, we still expect very strong winds aloft to be
juxtaposed with whatever surface warm sector develops, and this
will support organized storms ahead of a strong cold front, and
perhaps the possibility of a few discrete supercells ahead of the
more organized convective system over the central LA to southwest/
central MS area. The extreme shear and synoptic pattern remain
highly favorable for severe weather, so there should at least be
low-end wind damage even if updraft intensity is not impressive.
It will just be a question about how significant the severe
weather and tornado threat will be. Aside from the severe
weather, the strong pressure falls and tightening pressure
gradient will result in strong surface gradient winds, and a wind
advisory will remain in effect.
Wednesday through Friday: Breezy and much cooler conditions are
expected following the front, and we may eventually need a limited
wind threat graphic for Wednesday if the current forecast trends
continue. Wednesday night low temperatures will drop well into the
30s at most locations with the potential for a light freeze over
north central into northeast MS. Thereafter, seasonably cool and
dry conditions will continue Thu-Thu night with milder
temperatures returning Friday.
The weekend: The next significant shortwave trough will approach
the area and bring our next rain chances. Given the increased
dominance from the polar stream, this system will not bring a
severe weather threat, and rainfall will be less than a half inch
on average. Temperatures will cool back down following the system.

Tuesday will be a complicated day for aviation with low ceilings,
low level wind shear, wind gusts and storms all present. Winds
will begin to pick up as early as 4 to 5 AM for areas to the west.
Winds will gust out of the south around 25mph. Winds will
gradually begin to increase across the entire area this morning
and pick up this afternoon ahead of storms, gusting as high as 50
mph at times. Scattered MVFR ceilings associated with the rain and
storms will move through by early afternoon. Winds could also gust
50+ in thunderstorms. Storms will clear the area by Tuesday
evening and in the wake, cloud bases are 7k to 10k ft. Winds will
remain gusty with gusts to 25 mph out of the southwest./SAS/

24 thunderstorm wind, 16 strong wind, 1 high wind, 1 flash flood. Local standard time, as filed.
Strong gradient winds with gusts measured up to around 40-50 mph occurred throughout the day, but an early gust of 90 mph was measured at at 12:15 AM by the Laurel Airport AWOS KLUL. Several trees were blown down across the county.
A few trees were blown down in and near Vicksburg, including one which fell onto and damaged a home. A peak wind gust of 48 mph was measured during this time frame by the Vicksburg Tallulah Airport ASOS site KTVR.
Several trees and power lines were blown down. One tree fell onto a home. A peak wind gust of 52 mph was measured at the Jackson Medgar Wiley Evers Airport ASOS site KJAN at 2:39 PM.
A section of fence was blown down at First Presbyterian Day School on Belhaven Street. A peak wind gust of 45 mph was measured by the nearby Jackson - Hawkins ASOS site KHKS during this time frame.
Several trees and power lines were blown down. One downed power line started a brush fire, and a man was electrocuted by the downed lines. A peak wind gust of 52 mph was measured at the Jackson Medgar Wiley Evers Airport ASOS site KJAN at 2:39 PM.
Scattered trees and power lines were blown down by strong winds. A large limb fell and struck a woman in Stonewall. She was transported to the hospital and passed away from the injury that evening. Downed power lines started a fire in the woods along CR 690. A peak wind gust of 53 mph was measured at Meridian - Key Field during this time frame.
A tree fell on a power line along Sandifer Lane which started a grass fire.
A few trees were blown down in town. One fell onto a home.
Strong winds blew down power lines which resulted in multiple grass fires across Attala County, including near CR 2270, W Adams St, CR 4202, CR 4114, and CR 5006.

An anemometer measured a wind gust of 70 mph at the intersection of hwy 18 and hwy 80.
A tree fell on powerlines along Trickambridge Road near Grants Ferry Pkwy.

Brief heavy rainfall caused portions of University Boulevard, near the soccer fields, Rose Street and Terry Road to flood. Water was up to and over street curbs as well as Monument and Gallatin Streets near the railroad intersections which were closed due to high water.
A couple trees were blown down onto roads in the southern portion of the county.
A small corridor of strong winds exited Wathall County into extreme southwest Lawrence County where it damaged a convenience store. The tin roof was peeled off and strewn across the property. The debris from the tin roof snapped a power pole as well. Several trees were also uprooted and snapped. This corridor ended southwest of Jayess.
