- High Wind and Strong Wind in Idaho, January 13 to 14, 2021A strong cold front moved through northern Idaho on the morning of January 13th. With this front, severe winds swept through the Idaho Panhandle bringing widespread damage, fallen trees, and power outages.
- Strong Wind in Idaho, August 3, 2016A 37 year old woman and her 11 year daughter died in accidents near Fish Haven on Bear Lake. Winds allegedly played a factor in causing flotation devices to drift from shore. Highest recorded wind speeds at the Bear Lake airport near the time of accident were 29 mph.
- Hail and Damaging Winds in Idaho, June 24, 2020A weak cold front passing through the Pacific Northwest brought mostly dry and windy conditions across the Idaho Panhandle on June 24th. By mid-day, isolated showers and thunderstorms moved into the northern Idaho Panhandle.
- High Wind and Winter Weather in Idaho, December 21 to 22, 2020A new winter system moved into the Idaho Panhandle as a trough dropped into the Pacific Northwest on December 21st. With the accompanying atmospheric river, this system had substantial moisture with it bringing a wet and windy day ahead.
- Wildfire and High Wind in Idaho, September 7 to 8, 2020Unseasonably cold air spilled into the region resulting in strong northeast winds.
- High Wind and Strong Wind in Idaho, April 4, 2022A deepening Low with strong jet support brought strong surface winds across Columbia Basin into the region. Winds were sustained in the high teens and mid 20s. Gusts ranged in the upper 40s to near 60. Power outages affected around 15000 customers.
- Heavy Snow and High Wind in Idaho, March 13 to 14, 2020An arctic front moving in from Canada collided with moisture from a trough off the Pacific Coast from the afternoon of March 13th into the morning of March 14th.
- High Wind and Strong Wind in Idaho, December 17, 2025On December 17, 2025, a historic high wind event driven by a strong cold front undercutting an atmospheric river brought hurricane-force winds to North Central Idaho.
- High Wind and Strong Wind in Idaho, March 28, 2021A passing cold front produced strong winds in the Idaho Panhandle on March 28th. Winds reached gusts of 50-65 mph. These powerful winds downed many trees, especially in the Coeur d'Alene area.
- Strong Wind in Idaho, April 18, 2021A robust cold front, accompanied by strong north to northeast winds, passed through the northern Idaho Panhandle on April 18th. Evening winds reached gusts in the range of 40-60 mph.
- High Wind and Strong Wind in Idaho, May 3, 2010A tight pressure gradient and a strong jet stream moved over the area behind a cold front resulting in a windstorm over North Idaho. This resulted in extensive damage for some locations. The Lewiston area was hit especially hard with numerous trees blown down.
- Strong Wind in Idaho, March 29, 2010Strong winds led to a few reports of damage in the Coeur D'Alene area as well as power outages. The winds split a 120 foot Ponderosa pine tree which landed on a home and caused major damage. The winds also uprooted a tree which fell onto a car in Hayden.
- High Wind and Strong Wind in Idaho, September 7, 2020A vigorous cold front dropped into the Inland Northwest bringing strong winds to the northern Idaho Panhandle on September 7th. This strong front produced localized tree damage in the early onset of these winds during the morning hours.
- High Wind and Strong Wind in Idaho, April 8, 2010Strong gusty winds along and behind a cold front passage led to downed trees and power lines over portions of North Idaho. About 3,700 customers lost power in Moscow for about 20 minutes. One tree fell and struck two cars in Moscow.
- Winter Storm and Strong Wind in Idaho, January 8 to 11, 2006A powerful Pacific storm system brought heavy snow and wind to northern Idaho during the afternoon hours of the 8th through the early morning hours of the 11th.
- Strong Wind in Idaho, May 21, 2013A strong cold front moving in from the northwest late in the afternoon on the 21st caused wind damage to parts of Southwest Idaho.
- Flood and Strong Wind in Idaho, April 7, 2018A combination of moderate to heavy rainfall ahead and along a cold front brought flooding and wind damage to portions of central Idaho.
- Heavy Snow and Strong Wind in Idaho, February 27 to 29, 2024A strong cold front brought heavy snow and strong winds to portions of the Idaho Panhandle. Snow reports across the region ranged from 3 to 6 inches. The Northern portion of the Idaho Panhandle had reports of up to 8 inches.
- Strong Wind in Idaho, February 12 to 13, 2011A strong cold front moving west to east across the region produced strong winds in northern Idaho during the evening hours.
- Heavy Snow and Strong Wind in Idaho, December 10 to 11, 2021Strong southerly winds developed in Grangeville on December 11th as a Pacific cold front moved into eastern Oregon and Washington. Peak wind gusts in excess of 50 mph were observed, with limited damage to property and power infrastructure.
- Heavy Snow and High Wind in Idaho, April 3 to 4, 2022A strong cold front brought heavy snow and high winds to the West Central and Boise Mountains and higher elevations throughout southwest Idaho.
- High Wind and Strong Wind in Idaho, August 29, 2015A strong and fairly dry cold front passed thorugh North Idaho and brought damaging winds and blowing dust to the area in addition to causing extreme fire behavior.
- High Wind and Strong Wind in Idaho, March 28 to 29, 2021A strong Pacific cold front, along with a stronger than normal mid-level wind maximum near 90 knots, brought wind damage to portions of north-central Idaho and western Montana.
- Extreme Cold and Strong Wind in Idaho, December 21 to 22, 2022A deep trough moved in from the northwest, bringing widespread extreme cold and gusty winds to the Magic Valley with a few inches of snow to the Snake River Valley.
- Heavy Snow and Strong Wind in Idaho, January 6 to 10, 2024A slow moving Low passed through the Pacific Northwest over January 6 through 10. It brought several rounds of locally heavy snow and gusty winds. Through the period, locations in the North Idaho Panhandle saw snow amounts of 1 to 2 feet.
