It burned a total of 1,955 acres and 151 people were employed to combat the fire. The fire transition to local unit occurred on 6/27/2011. Full containment was late on June 29th.
- Wildfire in Texas, June 23 to 25, 2011The Texas Forest Service reported that the Miles Wildfire began in Wheeler County about four miles south of Wheeler Texas around 1557 CST. The wildfire threatened three homes and those three homes were evacuated and saved. There were no reports of damages or injuries.
- Wildfire in Texas, June 24 to 25, 2011A wildfire began during the afternoon of the 24th along U.S. Highway 84, 13 miles northwest of Post. The wildfire threatened 11 homes, destroyed 1000 railroad ties and burned 7000 acres. The wildfire became contained early in the morning on the 25th.

The wildfire was caused by lightning and consumed an estimated four hundred acres.
