- Lightning Strike in Louisiana, April 2, 2003Lightning struck a large oak tree in front of the home of Jesse Ewing in the Manifest Community, completely shredding the tree into splinters. The force of the discharge of electricity from the lightning strike, threw pieces of the tree as far as 200 yards away.

- Damaging Winds in Washington, April 3, 2003A downburst from an early season thunderstorm uprooted and snapped the trunks of over ten trees in the Marshall area. Some of the snapped tree trunks were up to 12 inches in diameter. Near Cheney two old growth pine trees were uprooted and winds damaged a roof.

- Lightning Strike in Hawaii, April 4, 2003A civil defense official informed the National Weather Service office in Lihue, Kauai, that a lightning strike had started a fire at an Anahola residence. However, no damage estimates were available on the blaze.
