The deadliest
- Excessive Heat in Nevada, July 3 to 12, 2024An exceptionally prolonged and intense heat wave broke many daily and even all-time temperature records. Forty-two people died in Las Vegas of heat-related causes during and immediately after the heat wave.
- Excessive Heat in Nevada, July 1 to 5, 2013A large area of high pressure brought record-breaking temperatures to much of the Desert Southwest. Several people died from the heat, many more were injured, and some infrastructure was damaged.
- Excessive Heat in Nevada, July 19 to 25, 2024High pressure built westward over the Mojave Desert, leading to another spell of extreme heat. Thirty-four people died in Las Vegas of heat-related causes.
- Excessive Heat in Nevada, July 22 to 29, 2016Temperatures in Las Vegas reached Excessive Heat Warning levels on seven of eight days. There were 15 direct and 13 indirect heat related fatalities from the 23rd through the 31st.
- Excessive Heat in Nevada, July 6 to 8, 2017Excessive Heat Warning criteria were reached in the Mojave Desert from the 6th through the 8th. From the 6th through the 10th, 20 people died in Las Vegas of heat related causes.
- Excessive Heat in Nevada, June 5 to 8, 2024Strong high pressure over the Desert Southwest led to an early-season heat wave.
- Excessive Heat in Nevada, June 17 to 25, 2017A prolonged period of excessive heat affected the Mojave Desert. 18 people died of heat-related causes in the Las Vegas Valley.
- Heat in Nevada, August 1 to 5, 2018Eighteen people died of heat related causes in Las Vegas.
- Excessive Heat in Nevada, June 19 to 21, 2016Temperatures in Las Vegas reached Excessive Heat Warning criteria from the 19th through the 21st, and remained just below those levels through the 29th. There were nine direct and eight indirect fatalities between June 20th and 29th.
- Excessive Heat in Nevada, July 24 to 28, 2018Excessive Heat Warning criteria were reached in Las Vegas from July 24 through 28. Seventeen people died in Las Vegas of heat related causes during and in the immediate aftermath of the excessive heat.
- Heat in Nevada, June 21 to 26, 2024Sixteen people died in Las Vegas of heat-related causes.
- Excessive Heat in Nevada, July 15, 2017Excessive Heat Warning criteria were reached in Las Vegas on the 15th. From the 15th through the 18th, 14 people died of heat related causes.
- Excessive Heat in Nevada, June 9 to 10, 2025High pressure building overhead pushed temperatures to dangerously hot levels in the Mojave Desert. Fourteen people died in southern Nevada of heat-related causes.
- Heat in Nevada, July 1 to 4, 2015Temperatures finally fell below Excessive Heat Warning levels on July 1st; however, 13 people died in Las Vegas of heat-related causes during the first four days of the month.
- Excessive Heat in Nevada, June 9 to 12, 2022Building high pressure pushed temperatures close to records over much of the Mojave Desert. Twelve people died in Las Vegas of heat-related causes during and shortly after the heat wave.

- Excessive Heat in Nevada, June 18 to 19, 2025Another dome of high pressure passed over the Mojave Desert, triggering another round of dangerously hot temperatures.
- Heat in Nevada, June 27 to 30, 2025Eleven people died in southern Nevada of heat-related causes.
- Excessive Heat in Nevada, June 3 to 8, 2016Temperatures in Las Vegas reached Excessive Heat Warning criteria on five out of the six days. There were nine direct fatalities and one indirect fatality between the 3rd and the 12th.
- Excessive Heat in Nevada, August 6 to 8, 2018Temperatures reached Excessive Heat Warning criteria in Las Vegas. During and immediately after the excessive heat event, ten people died of heat related causes.
