- Excessive Heat in Oregon, June 26 to 29, 2021A high pressure heat dome over the region led to stretch of extreme heat, shattering records from June 26 through June 29. All time max temperatures were broken by 8 to 10 degrees.
- Excessive Heat in Oregon, July 25 to 30, 2022A prolonged heatwave developed as strong high pressure formed over the Pacific Northwest. This event was most notable by it's duration. High temperatures around 100 degrees persisted for a week for much of the northwest Oregon and southwest Washington, except the coast.
- Heat in Oregon, July 5 to 13, 2024Strong high pressure aloft setup over the West Coast, centered over portions of California. This system was nearly stationary which brought a prolonged stretch of hot temperatures to northwest Oregon and southwest Washington.
- Blizzard and Ice Storm in Oregon, January 11 to 13, 2024A very strong arctic front moved across Western Washington and Oregon on the 12th and 13th dropping temperatures below freezing.
- High Wind in Oregon, September 25, 1999A strong Pacific cold front associated with a deep low pressure system north of Washington State brought strong winds over Oregon and Washington during the morning and early afternoon.
- Flooding in Oregon, February 6 to 15, 1996Runoff from heavy rains and melting mountain snow caused major floods upon many northern Oregon rivers. The first rivers reached flood stage on the morning of February 6th while the heaviest rain was still falling.
- Wildfire in Oregon, September 7 to 30, 2020After a period of upper level ridging brought a return to above normal temperatures in early September, very strong easterly downslope and offshore winds off the Cascades and Coastal Ranges occurred.
- Excessive Heat in Oregon, August 11 to 14, 2021Hot weather began to develop August 9, peaking August 11-12, but temperatures continued above normal into the weekend. Peak afternoon temperatures of 100 to 105 degrees drove people to seek relief in or near bodies of water.
- Ice Storm and Winter Storm in Oregon, January 16 to 21, 2024The cold air mass remained in place from the initial arctic air mass with freezing temperatures continuing. Bouts of precipitation brought more freezing rain, snow as well.
- High Wind and Strong Wind in Oregon, September 7 to 8, 2020After a period of upper level ridging brought a return to above normal temperatures in early September, very strong easterly downslope and offshore winds off the Cascades and Coastal Ranges occurred.
- Flooding in Oregon, November 17 to 21, 1996A moist southwest flow aloft produced moderate to heavy rain and strong winds over southwest Oregon between Nov 17 and Nov 21. Storm total rainfall ranged from 8 to 12 inches on the coast with local amounts near 20 inches...3 to 7 inches of rainfall fell inland.
- Excessive Heat in Oregon, August 14 to 16, 2023High pressure brought extreme heat and heat related impacts to the area. Daily temperature records were set for multiple locations, with the hottest day being Monday August 14.
- High Wind in Oregon, December 26 to 28, 2022High Winds. A strong frontal system probably. South winds probably.
- High Surf in Oregon, December 13 to 16, 2006Heavy swell brought high surf to the Southern Oregon coast on these days. A High Surf Warning was in effect for Oregon zone ORZ021 from 13/1819 PST until 15/1540 PST, and for Oregon zone ORZ022 from 14/1600 PST until 15/1540 PST.
- Heavy Snow and High Wind in Oregon, December 19 to 21, 2007A potent Pacific storm and associated cold front brought strong winds to the coast and heavy snow to the Cascades. Behind the front in the unstable airmass, snow levels dropped and cold air hung over the forecast area.
- Cold in Oregon, January 1 to 11, 2017A low pressure system dropping south across the area and a trailing ridge of high pressure brought cold temperatures to Northwest Oregon. The cold temperatures lead to four fatalities in the Portland area.
- Excessive Heat in Oregon, July 4 to 13, 2024A persistent ridge over the western states with an associated thermal trough extending from northern California into southern Oregon brought a long-duration heat wave.
- Excessive Heat in Oregon, June 13 to 15, 2026An upper-level ridge of high pressure built into Oregon June 13-15th leading to a multi-day heat event. Max temperatures were around 91 on June 13th, 94 on June 14th, and 97 on June 15th for the Portland metro area.
- Wildfire in Oregon, September 8 to 15, 2020The Almeda Drive Wildfire started on 09/08/20 in the morning. The cause is under investigation. As of the last report at 0630 PDT on 09/15/20, the fire had burned 3200 acres and was 100 percent contained. This fire burned in a greenway and an adjacent urban area.
- High Surf in Oregon, May 9, 20063 fatalities were recorded when a 16 foot boat capsized near the Coos Bay south jetty. It was struck by two waves, the second capsized the vessel. The victims were not wearing life jackets and the water temperature was 52 degrees.
- Winter Weather in Oregon, December 31, 2007Moisture left over from rains the weekend before in combination with areas of fog forming in areas of below freezing temperatures led to the formation of black ice on roadways throughout much of the forecast area.
- High Surf in Oregon, January 19, 2016The 40.1 feet Eagle III commercial crab fishing vessel collided with the Coos Bay north jetty and capsized around 830 pm on 1/19/2016. The vessel had left Charleston, OR but was registered in Port Orford, OR. There were 4 people on board.
- Excessive Heat in Oregon, June 2 to 5, 2016Unseasonably strong ridge of high pressure resulted in a period of early-season hot temperatures across Northwest Oregon.
- High Surf in Oregon, January 8, 2019Seas were building ahead of a frontal system approaching on Tuesday night. Seas were up around 12 to 14 feet in the Yaquina Bay Bar when the boat the Mary B II tried to cross. Three fisherman died.
- Dense Fog in Oregon, December 16 to 17, 2023Dense Fog in the Central Willamette Valley contributed to a aircraft accident. A small plane struck power pole and power lines near Independence, Oregon and crashed just outside airport grounds, killing all three people onboard.
