Areas affected...portions of west Texas

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 187...

Valid 181007Z - 181100Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 187
continues.

SUMMARY...A cluster of storms over west Texas will continue to
weaken early this morning.

DISCUSSION...The cluster of storms between Midland and San Angelo
has shown signs of weakening over the past 30-60 minutes. Convection
is moving into an area of increasing MLCIN. The downstream airmass
also has been modified by earlier outflow and dewpoints are
currently in the mid to upper 50s. As a result, convection is likely
now elevated and recent observed wind gusts from regional West Texas
Mesonet data indicate gusts generally less than 20-30 mph. A
continued weakening trend is expected and additional downstream
watches are not anticipated.
