Valid 130508Z - 130715Z The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 18 continues. SUMMARY...Severe threat continues across ww018. DISCUSSION...LLJ has increased a bit across southwest TX extending into the TX South Plains late this evening. This has contributed to higher low-level moisture holding near the TX/NM border, as evident by upper 50s surface dew points at INK. With the primary trough still over the lower CO River Valley, large-scale forcing for ascent will hold off across the southern High Plains until later in the upcoming day1 period. As a result, low-level warm advection will continue to be the primary mechanism for strong/severe convective development. Latest radar data suggests a larger cluster of storms has evolved from earlier scattered supercells; although, one robust supercell over Crosby County may be producing hail/wind at this time.
