- Flash Flooding and Flooding in Colorado, September 11 to 20, 2013A deep southerly flow over Colorado, ahead of a near stationary low pressure system over the Great Basin, pumped copious amounts of monsoonal moisture into the area. In addition, a weak stationary front stretched along the Front Range Foothills and Palmer Divide.
- Flash Flood in Colorado, July 28, 1997A flash flood killed 5 women and injured 40 others when a 10-15 foot wall of water surged through 2 mobile home parks.
- Blizzard in Colorado, October 24 to 25, 1997
- Winter Weather in Colorado, March 30, 2009A band of heavy snow, induced by a strong upper level jetstream, wreaked havoc on the morning commute in Denver, as well as area north and east of the Denver area. The snow was heaviest on the east side of the Denver metro area where storm totals ranged from 2 to 5 inches.
- Avalanche in Colorado, April 20, 2013A large avalanche pushed a group of six snow boarders into the Sheep Creek gully of Loveland Pass. This is near but outside the Loveland Ski Area boundary. Five of the six members of the group were completely buried. The survivor was was partially buried.
- Flash Flood in Colorado, July 20, 2021A deadly debris flow from the Cameron Peak burn area, struck Black Hollow Gulch west of Rustic on CO-14. The debris flow, estimated to be 5 to 8 feet deep, destroyed 6 homes and other structures. Four people were killed when their residence was swept away by the floodwaters.
- Wildfire and High Wind in Colorado, March 26 to 31, 2012Strong southwest winds ahead of an approaching cold front produced high to extreme fire danger across the Front Range Foothills and Palmer Divide.
- Dense Fog in Colorado, August 24, 2008Extremely dense fog was sited as playing a major role in the fatal crash of a single engine, fixed wing Piper aircraft.
- Blizzard in Colorado, March 13 to 14, 2019An intense low pressure system developed over southern Colorado on March 13th, producing blizzard conditions at times over El Paso county(focused from later in the morning on March 13th into the afternoon of March 13th).
- Debris Flow in Colorado, May 25, 2014During the peak of snowmelt on the Grand Mesa was a period of heavy rainfall which may have combined to precipitate a massive landslide on the north side of the Grand Mesa.
- Cold in Colorado, December 18 to 24, 1998An Arctic airmass settled in over northeastern Colorado dropping overnight temperatures well below zero for 6 consecutive days. Overnight temperatures bottomed out at 19 degrees below zero on the morning of the 22nd.
- Avalanche in Colorado, February 6, 1999A group of 4 college students were caught in an avalanche which was triggered by one of the skiers while traversing a slope just below the summit on Cumberland Pass, which is about 25 miles east-northeast of Gunnison in the Sawatch Mountain Range.
- Winter Storm and Winter Weather in Colorado, December 19 to 20, 2011A winter storm brought heavy snow to southern Lincoln County. Trained spotters in and around Karval measured 7 to 10 inches of snowfall.
- Avalanche in Colorado, February 1, 2021A series of strong winter storms brought heavy snow to the mountains of southwest Colorado in late January 2021 with new snowfall amounts up to 35.5 inches reported. Strong winds associated with these storms resulted in heavy snow loading on windward slopes.
- Wildfire and High Wind in Colorado, December 30, 2021The combination of very high winds and extremely dry conditions produced the most destructive wildfire in Colorado history ($2 Billion), the Marshall Fire. It was also one of the costliest fires in U.S. history.
- Wildfire in Colorado, June 23 to 30, 2012A wildfire erupted in Waldo Canyon, west of Colorado Springs midday June 23rd and was not contained until July 10th. The fire consumed 18,247 acres, most of which was in National Forest land.
- Wildfire in Colorado, October 14 to 31, 2020The East Troublesome Fire started on the afternoon of October 14th and continued through the end of the month; iIt became the second largest wildfire in Colorado to date, and one of the most destructive.
- High Wind in Colorado, January 9, 2017A long-lasting high wind episode occurred across the eastern part of the area. Strong winds aloft, and a long-lasting mountain top stable layer generated widespread high winds and damage.
- Wildfire in Colorado, April 15 to 16, 2008A wildfire erupted west of Ordway and strong winds spread the blaze rapidly east northeastward. Highways 96 and 71 were shut down, as 8900 acres of grassland was consumed. Twenty-four structures were destroyed west and north of Ordway. Over 150 power poles were destroyed.
- Tornadoes and Hail in Colorado, March 28, 2007A few severe thunderstorms occurred over extreme southeast Colorado... producing damaging winds and large hail. One supercell generated large hail...damaging winds...and two tornadoes.
- Blizzard in Colorado, October 24 to 26, 1997While blizzards are not uncommon in Colorado, the widespread areal extent of this blizzard was, perhaps a one in 50 year event. A powerful low pressure system moved in from the northwest through Utah, and settled into northern New Mexico.
- Flash Flood in Colorado, July 12, 1996Very heavy rain from a fast moving thunderstorm dumped 2 to 3 inches of rain within an hour over southern Jefferson County. Two people were killed near the town of Buffalo Creek when a 20-ft wall of water blasted through the area.
- Flash Flood in Colorado, July 15, 2022Two people were killed after heavy rain which produced a destructive debris flow in the Cameron Peak burn area. The 37-yr old woman and her 12-yr old daughter were in a camp trailer that was swept away at Calcite Road along Sheep Creek.
- Tornado and Hail in Colorado, June 27, 1960
- High Wind in Colorado, January 19, 2009Strong northwest winds gusting to 58 mph occurred over northern Lincoln County. The combination of strong winds and very dry conditions caused areas of blowing dust and dirt to create brownout conditions.
