The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of 
  Central and Eastern New York
  Northeast Pennsylvania

* Effective this Friday afternoon and evening from 325 PM until
  1100 PM EDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
  Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible

SUMMARY...Thunderstorms continue to form and intensify across the
watch area, in a hot and humid environment.  Storms will persist
through the early evening, with a risk of hail and damaging winds in
the strongest cells.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 80
statute miles north and south of a line from 55 miles west southwest
of Elmira NY to 25 miles east northeast of Albany NY. For a complete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
