The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 213
continues.
SUMMARY...The threat for isolated damaging wind gusts continues
across east-central KS and into far west-central MO.
DISCUSSION...Organized convective line continues to push
southeastward across east-central KS at around 30 kt. Northern
portion of the line, which traveled a bit more eastward across far
northeast KS, has diminished over the past hour after moving into a
less favorable thermodynamic environment. The remainder of the line
continues progressing into the slightly more thermodynamically
supportive environment extending northward from southeast KS to near
EMP and TOP. Updraft strength has remained fairly consistent within
this portion of the line for the past hour. However, the line is
beginning to move out of the narrow corridor of more favorable
low-level moisture into an area characterized by dewpoints in the
low 60s (across east-central KS) to the upper 50s across far
west-central MO.
Some weakening of updrafts has been noted within the past 15 minutes
or so, which may be a result of the line moving into this localized
region of lower dewpoints. Even with this weakening, isolated
damaging wind gusts remain possible with this line as it continues
southeastward.
