THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  VAL VERDE COUNTY

* UNTIL 715 AM CST

* AT 420 AM CST...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED VERY HEAVY
RAINS FROM NEAR COMSTOCK TO SONORA...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 20 MPH.

* FURTHER TRAINING OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS FROM ACTIVITY
DEVELOPING AND MOVING IN FROM OLD MEXICO WILL OCCUR OVER THE NEXT
SEVERAL HOURS...WITH EXCESSIVE RAINFALL EXPECTED.  GROUND CONDITIONS
COULD BECOME SATURATED QUICKLY WITH RAPID RUNOFF AND RESULTANT FLASH
FLOODING.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THESE STORMS WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...COUNTRY ROADS...NORMALLY DRY WASHES AND
ARROYOS...AS WELL AS FARMLAND ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT
QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY
IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
