THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  COMAL COUNTY
  KENDALL COUNTY
  BASTROP COUNTY
  BLANCO COUNTY
  TRAVIS COUNTY...INCLUDING THE AUSTIN METROPOLITAN AREA
  BEXAR COUNTY...INCLUDING THE SAN ANTONIO METROPOLITAN AREA
  HAYS COUNTY
  LEE COUNTY
  GUADALUPE COUNTY
  CALDWELL COUNTY

* UNTIL 5 AM CST FRIDAY MORNING

* AT 1045 PM CST...DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUED TO INDICATE NUMEROUS
  SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ALONG AND EITHER SIDE OF INTERSTATE 35
  BETWEEN SAN ANTONIO AND GEORGETOWN.  THE PUBLIC HAS REPORTED VERY
  HEAVY RAIN BETWEEN SAN ANTONIO AND AUSTIN DURING THE EVENING.
  AMOUNTS HAVE RANGED BETWEEN 2 AND 5 INCHES IN MANY LOCATIONS.

SINCE THE GROUND REMAINS SUPER-SATURATED FROM THESE PRIOR
DELUGES...ANY MORE RAINFALL WILL NOT SOAK IN BUT RUN OFF RAPIDLY
INTO ALREADY SWOLLEN AND FLOODED CREEKS...RIVER AND LOW-WATER
CROSSINGS...OR POND IN LOW-LYING FLAT AREAS...STREETS AND
HIGHWAYS...GREATLY ADDING TO THE POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED
ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING FOR
MUCH OF SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS AND THE TEXAS HILL COUNTRY.  MORE SHOWERS
AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE ACROSS THE RIO GRANDE FROM MEXICO INTO
SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS FRIDAY...CONTINUING THE THREAT FOR ADDITIONAL
HEAVY RAINS AND FLOODING.

THIS CONTINUES TO BE A VERY DANGEROUS HEAVY RAIN AND FLOOD EVENT.
