THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 430 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING
COUNTIES
IN THE SOUTHWEST PART OF MISSOURI
LAWRENCE...DADE...JASPER
AT 330 PM CDT RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS
EXTENDEDED FROM 60 MILES NORTH OF SPRINGFIELD MISSOURI TO NEAR
JOPLIN MISSOURI. THE LINE WAS MOVING TO THE SOUTHEAST AT 25 TO 30
MILES AN HOUR.
THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF JOPLIN AND MOUNT VERNON.
THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM...PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WINDS...LARGE HAIL
AND DEADLY LIGHTNING.
A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THE WARNED AREA. SEVERE

TORNADO WATCH 244 IS IN EFFECT FOR THIS AREA UNTIL 8PM. THIS LINE OF STORMS IS EXPECTED TO INCREASE IN INTENSITY AS IT MOVES INTO SOUTHWEST MISSOURI WITH A RISK OF TORNADOES...LARGE HAIL AND STRONG GUSTY WINDS.
