THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING 
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 315 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING 
COUNTIES

   IN THE SOUTHWEST PART OF MISSOURI
      BARTON...CEDAR...

   IN THE WEST CENTRAL PART OF MISSOURI
      VERNON...

THUNDERSTORMS CONTAINING HEAVY RAIN CONTINUE TO MOVE INTO SOUTHWEST
MISSOURI FROM SOUTHEAST KANSAS.

THE MARMATON RIVER NORTH OF NEVADA...HORSE CREEK AND CEDAR CREEK IN
CEDAR COUNTY 50 MILES NORTHWEST OF SPRINGFIELD WILL CONTINUE TO
RISE RAPIDLY WITH THE ADDITIONAL RAINFALL FALLING ON SATURATED
GROUND.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.
THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY.
VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED IMMEDIATELY.
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS FLOODING IS IMMINENT.  IT IS IMPORTANT TO
KNOW WHERE YOU ARE IN RELATION TO STREAMS...RIVERS...OR CREEKS THAT

AREA.  THIS WILL LIKELY CAUSE STREET AND URBAN FLOODING IN THE
CITY OF SPRINGFIELD.

PERSONS DRIVING TO WORK THIS MORNING SHOULD ALLOW EXTRA TIME FOR
TRAVEL AND AVOID FLOOD PRONE AREAS.
