THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 300 AM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING 
COUNTIES

   IN THE SOUTHWEST PART OF MISSOURI
      BARTON...STONE...JASPER...

   IN THE WEST CENTRAL PART OF MISSOURI
      VERNON...

AT 155 AM CDT RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 40 MILES
SOUTHEAST OF JOPLIN MOVING TO THE EAST AT 30 MILES PER HOUR.
A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ALSO EXTENDED FROM 50 MILES
NORTH TO 10 MILES WEST OF JOPLIN. THESE STORMS WILL MOVE INTO
VERNON BARTON AND JASPER COUNTIES BY 215 AM CDT. THE CITY OF
JOPLIN IS IN THE PATH OF THESE STORMS.

THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM...PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WINDS...LARGE HAIL
AND DEADLY LIGHTNING.

A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THE WARNED AREA.  SEVERE
THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE TORNADOES WITH LITTLE
OR NO WARNING.
