THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 330 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING 
COUNTIES

   IN THE SOUTHWEST PART OF MISSOURI
      CEDAR...DADE...JASPER

AT 245 PM CDT RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS 10
MILES WIND EXTENDED FROM 15 MILES EAST OF NEVADA TO 25 MILES SOUTH-
WEST OF JOPLIN MISSOURI. TREES HAVE BEEN UPROOTED IN NEVADA WITH
LARGE HAIL OVER THE CITIES OF NEVADA AND LAMAR WITH THE PASSAGE OF
THESE STORMS.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WINDS...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...
DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN.  MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM
ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS.

A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THE WARNED AREA.  SEVERE
THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE TORNADOES WITH LITTLE
OR NO WARNING.

A LINE OF VERY STRONG THUNDERSTORMS 20 MILES WIDE EXTENDED FROM 30
MILES NORTH OF NEVADA MISSOURI TO NEAR BARTLESVILLE OKLAHOMA.

TORNADO WATCH 244 IS IN EFFECT FOR THIS AREA UNTIL 8PM. THIS LINE
OF STORMS IS EXPECTED TO INCREASE IN INTENSITY AS IT MOVES INTO
SOUTHWEST MISSOURI WITH A RISK OF TORNADOES...LARGE HAIL AND STRONG
GUSTY WINDS. THE LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING TO THE EAST AT 15
TO 20 MPH.
