The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of 
  Central and North Texas

* Effective this Monday night from 605 PM until Midnight CDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible
  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
  A tornado or two possible

SUMMARY...A modest instability and strong shear environment will
support isolated strong to severe thunderstorms across central into
north-central Texas this evening. Some supercells will be possible
particularly across central Texas, while a line of organizing storms
may otherwise develop toward the I-35 corridor/north-central Texas
including the Metroplex vicinity. Severe hail/wind will be the
primary hazards, but a tornado risk cannot be entirely ruled as a
low-level jet increases after sunset.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 70
statute miles east and west of a line from 40 miles north of Fort
Worth TX to 60 miles southwest of Temple TX. For a complete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
