THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  730 AM CST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS
 
   ...LAMPASAS COUNTY
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS
 
   ...BLANCO COUNTY...BURNET COUNTY...HAYS COUNTY...EASTERN LLANO COUN
   ...TRAVIS COUNTY...WILLIAMSON COUNTY
 
AT 345 AM...RADAR SHOWED WIDESPREAD MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL OVER
MUCH OF CENTRAL TEXAS AND IN THE HILL COUNTRY. VERY HEAVY RAIN WAS
OCCURRING OVER ALREADY SATURATED GROUNDS AND RUNOFF WILL PRODUCE FLASH
FLOODING...ESPECIALLY ALONG CREEKS AND RIVERS.
 
THEREFORE...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR THE ABOVE COUNTIES HAS BEEN
EXTENDED UNTIL 730 AM.
 
THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION.  THE MAIN STORM SYSTEM
REMAINS ANCHORED OUT TO OUR WEST...AND WITH ABUNDANT MOISTURE IN
PLACE...ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINFALL WILL LIKELY CONTINUE AS DISTURBANCES
ROTATE EASTWARD ACROSS CENTRAL TEXAS.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT.  IT'S
IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHERE YOU ARE RELATIVE TO STREAMS...RIVERS...OR
CREEKS WHICH CAN BECOME KILLERS IN HEAVY RAINS.  CAMPERS SHOULD
AVOID CAMPING ALONG STREAMS OR CREEKS DURING THREATENING RAINS.
