A low pressure system pushing northeastward through the Quad State region brought moderate to heavy rain to Western Kentucky for the midday through evening hours. Flash flood and areal flood issues developed late afternoon to early evening in the Purchase Area and Southern Pennyrile where widespread 3 to 4 inch storm total precipitation observations occurred. A water rescue occurred near the Graves/Hickman County line and several vehicles were stranded on Hopkins Rd in Calloway County. CAPE was limited to a couple hundred J/kg. Frontogenesis was oriented west-east across Western Kentucky and precipitable water values were 1.25 to 1.5 inches. River flooding occurred on the S Fork Little River and on the Green River as a result of this heavy rain event.

Minor street flooding was reported east of Cadiz. Radar estimated rainfall in this area was around 2 inches at the time, with an additional inch of rain spread out through the evening hours.
Water was reported over KY-107/South Virginia St near Bryan St. Radar estimated totals were around an inch at the time the flooding was reported, with an extended period of light to moderate rain bringing storm totals to around 3 inches in much of Christian County.
KY-94 was closed due to high water between KY-781 and Jeffress Road. Radar estimated rainfall was approximately 2-2.5 inches at the time of closure, with an additional inch of rainfall occurring through the late afternoon and evening hours.

A stalled vehicle and water rescue occurred around 1700CST on KY-58 at Brush Creek near the Graves and Hickman County line. Radar estimated rainfall was around 2-2.5 inches at the time of the water rescue, with an additional inch of rainfall occurring through the evening hours.
A few inches of water covered the right lane of US-45 southbound approximately a mile north of the I-69 interchange. Approximately 2.5 inches of rainfall had fallen in this area at 1745CST when road flooding was reported with half to three quarters of an inch of additional rainfall during the evening.
KY-293 was closed due to high water at Glass Creek. Approximately 2 to 2.5 inches of rain had fallen at the time of road closure, with an additional inch or rain through the evening.
Flooding occurred near Cane Creek with water over US-51 between Gin Rd and KY-1540 and over KY-58 between KY1475 and KY-1540. Approximately 2 inches of rainfall had fallen over the area when road closures were reported, with an additional half inch of rain through the evening hours.
Water covered KY-780 at Titsworth Road. Approximately 2 to 2.5 inches of rain had fallen in this area when the road was closed, with an addition half an inch or so falling during the evening hours.
Water was reported over KY-307 between KY-703 and KY-1748. Approximately 2 inches of rain had fallen in this area with an additional half inch during the evening hours.
At around 1800CST, five vehicles were stranded in high water on Hopkins Rd. Hopkins Rd was closed from KY-464 to Hickory Grove Church Rd. Approximately 2-2.5 inches of rain had fallen in the area at that point, with another inch or so of rain during the evening hours.
U.S. 45 south in Water Valley was closed due to water over the road. Approximately 2 inches of rain had fallen with an additional inch through the evening.
KY-1462 was closed due to high water between KY-408 and KY-1477. Approximately 2 inches of rain had fallen at the time of road closure, with an additional inch of rain through the evening.
Heavy rainfall of 3 to 4 inches resulted in overnight minor flooding on the S Fork Little River at the Bypass gage with flooding affecting low-lying areas.
Minor flooding of low-lying areas on the Green River near Paradise began as a result of heavy rainfall of 2-4 inches across much of the basin at the end of the month. This flooding increased as it continued into February.
