Multiple subtle shortwave troughs propagated through southwesterly flow aloft between the morning of the 30th and evening of the 31st. With a cold near-surface airmass in place, multiple rounds of wintry precipitation (mainly sleet) occurred across the area. The most significant accumulations of sleet were across central into southeast Oklahoma from the morning through early afternoon of the 30th. Travel conditions became quite hazardous in areas where even small accumulations of sleet occurred.
