A clipper low dropped across the lower Great Lakes with a stripe of moderate to heavy snow across western New York. The heaviest snow fell near the Pennsylvania state line over Chautauqua County. Selected snowfall amounts include 9.1 inches at Dewittville, 8.0 inches at Mayville, and 7.7 inches at Gerry.
