Cold air moving across the warmer waters of Lake Ontario brought a minor lake effect snow event across areas east of Lake Ontario during the afternoon and evening. Lighter snow showers during the afternoon increased in intensity during the afternoon. The heavier snow fell north of the New York State Thruway across northern Onondaga county. Total snow accumulations ranged around 7 inches in the far northern part of Onondaga county.
