A strong low pressure system over northern Arizona brought moist, southerly flow to much of western Colorado. This resulted in heavy snowfall over portions of the southwest and west-central Colorado mountains. Over a foot of snow fell in many areas. Some of the higher amounts reported from the storm include 16 inches at the Powderhorn Ski Area, 13 inches on the Grand Mesa and 13 inches near Lemon Reservoir.
