Damaging Wind in Pennsylvania, June 11, 2000
A line of severe thunderstorms produced wind gusts of between 40 and 60 mph across the southern half of Monroe County and knocked down trees and power lines. Pennsylvania Power and Light reported about 31,000 homes and businesses lost power throughout their service area which includes Monroe County.

A line of severe thunderstorms produced wind gusts of between 40 and 60 mph across the southern half of Monroe County and knocked down trees and power lines. Pennsylvania Power and Light reported about 31,000 homes and businesses lost power throughout their service area which includes Monroe County. Hardest hit was the Tannersville area. GPU Energy which also serves parts of Monroe County, reported about 4,000 outages in the Stroudsburg area. All power was restored by Monday evening the 12th.
