A Lehighton woman was struck and injured by lightning while lying on her floor comforting her pet dog that is afraid of thunderstorms. Apparently lightning entered through a window or electric outlet. Lightning entered her shoulder and exited her upper leg. She suffered burn blisters on her leg. A cable television box in the previous room was blown out. A second person was also struck and injured by lightning in Franklin Township.
