A Taylor Township 45 year old female and her 18 year old son were shocked by lightning as they tried to rescue their dog after a maple tree had blown down atop a dog house outside their home on South Mountain Road. When they hurried back to the house, they were shocked just as the mother touched the doorknob of the back door. The young man described the incident as like being shocked by an electric fence, and said he felt the shock rise through his legs and stop at about the level of his waist.
