A deep low pressure area moved from the plains northeast across the western great lakes, then over Hudson Bay in Canada. A strong pressure gradient produced gusty south to southwest winds over the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts during the early morning hours. The wind blew a sail boat off of its trailer.
