An intense low pressure system moving from the Great Lakes into Ontario Province produced strong south winds in advance of its associated cold front. Some peak wind gusts included 52 MPH at T.F. Green Airport in Warwick, 50 MPH at Portsmouth, 49 MPH at Tiverton, 46 MPH at Block Island, and 43 MPH at Newport. There were no reports of wind damage.,
