An intense low pressure system moving from the Great Lakes into Ontario Province produced strong south winds in advance of its associated cold front. A peak gust to 54 MPH was reported at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks. Other peak gusts included 43 MPH at Brainard Field in Hartford, and also in Manchester. Only minor damage resulted from the strong winds. One tree was blown down in Windsor causing an isolated power outage.
