the latest forecasts, and be prepared to take necessary
precautions to protect life and property.
River stage forecasts are based on observed rainfall along with
predicted rain for the next 12 hours. If actual rainfall varies
from forecast values, forecast river stages will vary.
Do not drive automobiles through flooded areas. Remember, 18 inches
of water or less can carry away most vehicles, including trucks.
If you see flood waters or come upon a flooded roadway, remember

* Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by late this morning and continue to rise to
near 7.0 feet by Friday afternoon.The river will fall below flood stage by this
Friday afternoon. If additional rainfall is not observed then the river levels
will not reach flood stage.
* Impact...At 7.0 feet...Minor lowland flooding reaches the lowest sections of
River Road above New Braunfels threatening sleeping campers, autos and gear on
low areas near and above Gruene. The bridge on Gruene Road becomes flooded and
impassable.

near 36.4 feet by Friday afternoon.The river will fall below flood stage by late
Friday afternoon.
* Impact...At 36.0 feet...Moderate lowland flooding reaches secondary roads and
low bridges in the flood plain. Recreationists should evacuate the river banks
because of dangerous turbulent flow. Low sections of Guadalupe River State
Park have tables, trash cans, and equiment damaged. Lowest homes in Kendall
County to Canyon Lake flood..

* Forecast...Rise above flood stage Friday morning and continue to rise to near
25.4 feet by early afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage by late
this afternoon.
* Impact...At 25.0 feet...Disastrous life threatening flooding occurs below
Canyon Dam to below Seguin. Roads near the river flood severely and are
extremely dangerous to motorists. Campgrounds along River Road flood. Much of
River Road is impassable and extremely dangerous for auto traffic. Visitors
should not evacuate in cars on River Road. Evacuate on foot directly away from
the river up canyon walls. Lowest homes in New Braunfels flood severely.

Roads near the river below Canyon Dam to Lake Dunlap are very dangerous to
motorists.

* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 31.0 feet by Friday evening.
The river will fall below flood stage late Friday night.
* Impact...At 32.0 feet...Several homes in low areas of the flood plain in
Seguin are destroyed. Several structures are washed downstream. Nearly all of
Treasure Island at Lake McQueeny is under water with homes severely flooded
and damaged. Livestock in the flood plain above Seguin to below Cuero are cut
off and potentially drowned.

Five Mile Dam is flooded.

* At 1:45 PM Friday the stage was 5.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...rise above flood stage by Friday evening and continue to rise to near
35.8 feet by Saturday afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage
by Sunday evening.
* Impact...At 36.0 feet...Palmetto State Park is under water except for the
headquarters building. The pavillion has six feet of water in it. Much of the
golf course in Luling is underwater. Lowest homes northeast of the golf course
are threatened. The Warm Springs rehabilitation hospital in Ottine has several
feet of water in it.

* Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...rise above flood stage by after midnight Friday night and continue to
rise to near 26.9 feet by Saturday afternoon. The river will fall below
flood stage by early Sunday morning.
* Impact...At 25.0 feet...Major flooding, flow in Plum Creek is seventy five to
one hundred yards wide in most areas with many secondary roads and low bridges
flooded. Livestock in low areas of the flood plain may be cut off and
drowned.

Market 108. Runoff down Tinsley Creek in Gonzales added to the Guadalupe River
backwater can flood lowest homes near the creek. Secondary roads and streets
near the river are flooded and dangerous to motorists.

feet by early Saturday afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage by
Sunday before midnight.
* Impact...At 36.0 feet...Palmetto State Park is under water except for the
headquarters building. The pavillion has six feet of water in it. Much of the
golf course in Luling is underwater. Lowest homes northeast of the golf course
are threatened. The Warm Springs rehabilitation hospital in Ottine has several
feet of water in it.

SCATTERED ABOUT PARKING LOTS. A CHAINLINK FENCE HAS BEEN
BLOWN OVER. NO STRUCTURAL DAMAGE OBSERVED. POWER IS OUT
ACROSS THE TOWN. MOST OF THE DAMAGE IS NEAR HWY 181 AND
HWY 97. 45 TO 50 MPH WIND GUST OBSERVED.
