  Guadalupe River...Plum Creek...San Marcos River 
  
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

All persons with interests along the river should monitor 
the latest forecasts, and be prepared to take necessary 
precautions to protect life and property. 
 
River stage forecasts are based on observed rainfall along with 
predicted rain for the next 12 hours. If actual rainfall varies 
from forecast values, forecast river stages will vary. 
 
Do not drive automobiles through flooded areas. Remember, 18 inches 
of water or less can carry away most vehicles, including trucks. 
 
If you see flood waters or come upon a flooded roadway, remember 
to turn around and do not drown.

* From Friday afternoon...or until the warning is cancelled.
* At  9:00 AM Friday the stage was 23.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 30.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Friday afternoon and continue to rise to 
  near 30.5 feet during by Friday evening.The river will fall below flood stage 
  by Friday evening.
* Impact...At 30.0 feet...Minor lowland flooding rises into the flood plain at 
  Guadalupe River State Park damaging tables, trash cans and camping equipment. 
  Swimming and any recreation in the river is extremely dangerous with 
  turbulence, trees and trash in the water.

* Until Friday evening...or until the warning is cancelled. 
* At  8:45 AM Friday the stage was 11.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by late Friday morning and rise to
  near 27.4 feet by Friday afternoon.The river will fall below flood stage 
  Friday night.
* Impact...At 28.0 feet...Disastrous flooding reaches many lowest homes in New 
  Braunfels downstream to Seguin. River recreational areas are severely flooded 
  and life threatening below Canyon Dam to Seguin. All roads near the river will
  become life threatening as the flood wave moves downstream.

* Forecast...Rise above flood stage Friday afternoon and continue to rise to 
  near 23.7 feet friday evening.The river will fall below flood stage Saturday monring.
* Impact...At 22.0 feet...Moderate lowland flooding threatens homes in the Glen 
  Cove Subdivdision in Seguin. Roads and low bridges near the river are flooded 
  and dangerous. Runoff down Walnut Branch northwest of downtown Seguin 
  threatens lowest homes and apartments.

* At  8:45 AM Friday the stage was 5.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by late Friday afternoon and continue to rise 
  to near 35.5 feet by early Saturday afternoon.The river will fall below flood 
  stage by early Tuesday morning.
* Impact...At 36.0 feet...Palmetto State Park is under water except for the 
  headquarters building. The pavillion has six feet of water in it. Much of the 
  golf course in Luling is underwater. Lowest homes northeast of the golf course
  are threatened. The Warm Springs rehabilitation hospital in Ottine has several
  feet of water in it.

* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by tonight and continue to rise to near 26.9
  feet by Saturday morning.The river will fall below flood stage Saturday  
  late evening.
* Impact...At 25.0 feet...Major flooding, flow in Plum Creek is seventy five to 
  one hundred yards wide in most areas with many secondary roads and low bridges
  flooded. Livestock in low areas of the flood plain may be cut off and 
  drowned.

* Forecast...Rise above flood stage Saturday late morning and continue to 
  rise to near 41.7 feet by Sunday early afternoon.The river will fall below 
  flood stage by Monday before midnight.
* Impact...At 43.0 feet...Major flooding closes Highways 183, 97 and Farm to 
  Market 108. Runoff down Tinsley Creek in Gonzales added to the Guadalupe River
  backwater can flood lowest homes near the creek. Secondary roads and streets 
  near the river are flooded and dangerous to motorists.

* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 31.0 feet by Friday evening.
The river will fall below flood stage late Friday night.
* Impact...At 32.0 feet...Several homes in low areas of the flood plain in
Seguin are destroyed. Several structures are washed downstream. Nearly all of
Treasure Island at Lake McQueeny is under water with homes severely flooded
and damaged. Livestock in the flood plain above Seguin to below Cuero are cut
off and potentially drowned.

* Impact...At 25.0 feet...Major flooding, flow in Plum Creek is seventy five to
one hundred yards wide in most areas with many secondary roads and low bridges
flooded. Livestock in low areas of the flood plain may be cut off and
drowned.

the Guadalupe River at Gonzales.
* At 2:16 PM Friday the stage was 12.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 31.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...rise above flood stage by Saturday afternoon and continue to rise
to near 41.9 feet by Sunday evening. The river will fall below flood stage by
Monday evening.
* Impact...At 43.0 feet...Major flooding closes Highways 183, 97 and Farm to
Market 108. Runoff down Tinsley Creek in Gonzales added to the Guadalupe River
backwater can flood lowest homes near the creek. Secondary roads and streets
near the river are flooded and dangerous to motorists.

the Guadalupe River Near Cuero.
* At 1:30 PM Friday the stage was 8.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 24.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...rise above flood stage by Monday morning and continue to rise to
near 32.5 feet by Tuesday early afternoon.
* Impact...At 33.0 feet...Moderate flooding threatens lowest homes 10 miles
downstream near Thomaston. Most primary roads and low bridges near Cuero flood
in lowest areas. Livestock should be moved from the flood plain immediately.

All persons with interests along the river should monitor 
the latest forecasts, and be prepared to take necessary 
precautions to protect life and property. 

River stage forecasts are based on observed rainfall along with 
predicted rain for the next 12 hours. If actual rainfall varies 
from forecast values, forecast river stages will vary. 

Do not drive automobiles through flooded areas. Remember, 18 inches 
of water or less can carry away most vehicles, including trucks. 

If you see flood waters or come upon a flooded roadway, remember 
to turn around and do not drown.
