NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK

AREAS AFFECTED...NERN OK THROUGH NWRN AR

CONCERNING...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 350...

VALID 040651Z - 040745Z

THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 350
CONTINUES.

SUMMARY...PRIMARY SEVERE THREAT APPEARS TO BE TRANSITIONING TO
DAMAGING WIND AND THREAT WILL SHIFT SWD THROUGH REMAINING PARTS OF
WW 350 DURING THE NEXT HOUR OR TWO. BASED ON SHORT TERM CONVECTIVE
TRENDS...THE WW MIGHT NEED TO BE LOCALLY EXTENDED FARTHER SOUTH IN
ERN OK.

DISCUSSION...STORMS CONTINUE DEVELOPING OVER NERN OK WITHIN ZONE OF
ISENTROPIC ASCENT NORTH OF A QUASISTATIONARY BOUNDARY. STORMS ARE IN
PROCESS OF ORGANIZING INTO AN MCS AND ARE BEGINNING TO ACCELERATE
SWD ALONG ITS DEVELOPING OUTFLOW BOUNDARY. A SWLY LLJ INTERACTING
WITH THIS BOUNDARY SHOULD HELP MAINTAIN A SWD PROPAGATING SYSTEM
NEXT COUPLE HOURS ALONG WITH POSSIBLY SOME BACKBUILDING ON THE SWRN
FLANK. THE LLJ IS FORECAST TO VEER AND DECREASE WITH TIME WHICH MAY
EVENTUALLY CONTRIBUTE TO AN OVERALL WEAKENING OF THE MCS LATER THIS
MORNING. IN THE MEANTIME...THE THREAT FOR DAMAGING WIND AND SOME
HAIL WILL PERSIST AS ACTIVITY DEVELOPS SWD.
