AREAS AFFECTED...TX PANHANDLE/LOW-ROLLING PLAINS

CONCERNING...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM POTENTIAL

VALID 142328Z - 150130Z

ISOLATED CU TOWERS ACROSS THE NRN TX PANHANDLE MAY DEVELOP INTO
STORMS EARLY THIS EVENING. IF CONVECTION DEVELOPS...LARGE HAIL WILL
BE THE PRIMARY THREAT. WW MAY BE NECESSARY IN THE NEXT 1 TO 2 HOURS.

ANALYSIS SHOWED A MOISTURE ADVECTION TONGUE EXTENDING NWD THROUGH
THE LOW-ROLLING PLAINS UP ONTO THE CAPROCK WITH 55-60 DEWPOINTS.
MLCAPE IS AROUND 1000 J/KG WITH LITTLE OR NO CAP PRESENT. MOISTURE
CONVERGENCE HAS BEEN INCREASING OVER THE NRN AND ERN TX PANHANDLE
AND CONVECTION IS EXPECTED TO INITIATE BY 00Z. WITH MODERATE
INSTABILITY...STEEP LAPSE RATES AROUND 8.5 C/KM AND DEEP LAYER SHEAR
AROUND 50 KT...AN ISOLATED SUPERCELL WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH LARGE
HAIL BEING THE MAIN THREAT. IF CONVECTION CAN INITIATE...THE
DEVELOPING LOW-LEVEL JET ACROSS W TX LATER TONIGHT SHOULD CAUSE AN
INCREASE IN COVERAGE. WW MAY BE NECESSARY WITHIN THE NEXT FEW HOURS.
