AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIDLAND TX 930 PM CDT FRI MAY 28 1999 NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE MOUNTAINOUS AREAS OF SOUTHWEST TEXAS THROUGHOUT THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS. SOME STORMS WERE/ARE MARGINALLY SEVERE WITH SEVERAL REPORTS OF DIME SIZE HAIL AND ONE REPORT OF A 70 MPH WIND GUST. RADAR/SATELLITE INDICATE LARGE AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS FROM S CNTL NM TO TERRELL COUNTY. THIS AREA IS SLOWLING MOVING EAST. PCPN POPS IN ZONES SEEM REASONABLE DUE TO TIMELY UPDATES BY WSFO LBB. OVERNIGHT FFA FOR SW TEXAS REMAINS APPROPRIATE. FURTHER CHANGES TO ZONES NOT RECOMMENDED AT THIS TIME. SD
