* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  EDDY COUNTY IN NEW MEXICO

* UNTIL 1230 AM MDT

* AT 911 PM MDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR DETECTED A LINE OF   
  THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN EXTENDING FROM ARTESIA TO 10    
  MILES WEST OF CARLSBAD...MOVING EAST AT 15 MPH.

* SOME LOCATIONS AFFECTED BY THIS FLASH FLOOD WARNING INCLUDE...   
  ESPUELA...ATOKA...DAYTON...LAKEWOOD...SEVEN RIVERS AND ARTESIA

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...LOW WATER CROSSINGS...AND NORMALLY DRY WASHES.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS 
IMMINENT. MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT

THE ROADWAY. NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL

NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE MOUNTAINOUS AREAS OF
SOUTHWEST TEXAS THROUGHOUT THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS.  SOME
STORMS WERE/ARE MARGINALLY SEVERE WITH SEVERAL REPORTS OF DIME SIZE
HAIL AND ONE REPORT OF A 70 MPH WIND GUST.  RADAR/SATELLITE
INDICATE LARGE AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS FROM S CNTL NM TO
TERRELL COUNTY.  THIS AREA IS SLOWLING MOVING EAST.  PCPN POPS IN
ZONES SEEM REASONABLE DUE TO TIMELY UPDATES BY WSFO LBB.  OVERNIGHT
FFA FOR SW TEXAS REMAINS APPROPRIATE.  FURTHER CHANGES TO ZONES NOT
RECOMMENDED AT THIS TIME.
