* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  EASTERN PECOS COUNTY IN TEXAS

* UNTIL 100 AM CDT

* AT 959 PM CDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR DETECTED
  THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN 20 MILES SOUTHWEST OF           
  BAKERSFIELD.  DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATES 3 TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN HAS    
  FALLEN ALONG HIGHWAY 2023...WITH FLOODING POSSIBLE.

* SOME LOCATIONS AFFECTED BY THIS FLASH FLOOD WARNING INCLUDE...   
  BAKERSFIELD AND LONGFELLOW

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...LOW WATER CROSSINGS...AND NORMALLY DRY WASHES.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT
QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY
IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE MOUNTAINOUS AREAS OF
SOUTHWEST TEXAS THROUGHOUT THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS.  SOME
STORMS WERE/ARE MARGINALLY SEVERE WITH SEVERAL REPORTS OF DIME SIZE
HAIL AND ONE REPORT OF A 70 MPH WIND GUST.  RADAR/SATELLITE
INDICATE LARGE AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS FROM S CNTL NM TO
TERRELL COUNTY.  THIS AREA IS SLOWLING MOVING EAST.  PCPN POPS IN
ZONES SEEM REASONABLE DUE TO TIMELY UPDATES BY WSFO LBB.  OVERNIGHT
FFA FOR SW TEXAS REMAINS APPROPRIATE.  FURTHER CHANGES TO ZONES NOT
RECOMMENDED AT THIS TIME.
