411 PM CDT SAT JUN 16 1990

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 445 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING 
COUNTIES

   IN THE NORTHEAST PART OF NEBRASKA
      EASTERN KNOX...COLFAX

AT 4 PM CDT NORFOLK RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 45 MILES
NORTH OF NORFOLK NEAR CROFTON AND 35 MILES NORFOLK OF NORFOLK NEAR
WASAU.  THE STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 30 MPH.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WINDS...LARGE HAIL...DEADLY
LIGHTNING AND VERY HEAVY RAIN THAT CAN QUICKLY FLOOD A LOW LYING
AREA.  SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN ALSO PRODUCE A TORNADO WITH LITTLE
OR NO WARNING.

IF YOU ARE OUTSIDE...TAKE SHELTER IN A STRONG BUILDING.  REMAIN
INSIDE AWAY FROM WINDOWS UNTIL THE STORM HAS PASSED.  TAKE SHELTER
IN AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF Y1OUR HOME OR BUSINESS.

 A TORNADO WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR NORTHEAST NEBRASKA UNTIL 9 PM.
 A FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT THROUGH THE NIGHT.
