- Ice Storm and Winter Storm in Texas, March 4 to 5, 2015A potent winter storm produced several rounds of winter weather on the 4th and 5th of March. Up to 4 inches of snow were reported in some areas of north Texas, along with a batch of sleet and freezing rain before the snow.
- Cold and Sleet in Texas, January 1, 2018A cold arctic air mass moved into South Texas for New Year's Day. Sleet was observed in the northern Coastal Bend. This caused icy conditions for roadways. A seven vehicle crash occurred on an icy overpass in Live Oak County resulting in one fatality.
- Ice Storm and Winter Weather in Texas, November 22 to 24, 2013Periods of freezing rain and sleet fell across West Central Texas from the morning of November 22 through the early morning hours of November 25. Periods of freezing rain and sleet, made parts of U.S.
- Extreme Cold and Sleet in Texas, January 16 to 17, 2018Rain turned into a wintry mix of across Southeast Texas. Overnight minimum temperatures fell into the teens to middle 20s.
- Winter Storm and Sleet in Texas, February 2 to 3, 2022The combination of an arctic airmass, abundant moisture and an upper level storm system resulted in a winter storm with widespread snow/sleet/freezing rain across much of west central Texas on February 2nd and 3rd.
- Winter Storm and Hail in Texas, March 2, 2014A wintry mix fell across mainly the northern half of the CWA. Some areas north and northeast of the Metroplex received over a half inch of sleet. The highest sleet accumulations were in Hopkins County where 1.5-3 of sleet fell.
- Flood and Sleet in Texas, November 22 to 23, 2014An upper level storm system moved across north Texas on the 21st and 22nd of the month. Cold air filtered in on the 21st, while moisture returned on the 22nd. A few areas reported sleet and freezing rain, with minimal impacts.
- Cold and Frost and Freeze in Texas, January 24 to 28, 2026A prolonged period of winter weather affected South Texas during the final week of January 2026, beginning with the arrival of a strong Arctic front early on January 24.
- High Wind and Winter Weather in Texas, March 8, 2012During the morning hours of the 8th, a strong cold front moved through the South Plains and Rolling Plains of West Texas. This front initially brought severe wind gusts along with minor wind damage.
- Ice Storm and Heavy Snow in Texas, January 28 to 29, 2010A major winter storm coming east out of the southern Rockies brought mainly heavy snow along with ice and sleet to the Texas Panhandle January 28 into early January 29. There were no reports of injuries...however damage was reported from this storm.
- Cold and Sleet in Texas, January 19 to 22, 2025In mid-January, long-range guidance from the CPC began signaling a period of colder-than-normal temperatures across the central United States, with a slight risk of hazardous cold extending into South Texas around January 20.
- Winter Storm and Sleet in Texas, November 24 to 25, 2013Another cold front moved through northern and central Texas during the late part of November. Temperatures again were in the critical range where most of the region received rain, but some locations saw accumulating sleet.
- Sleet in Texas, January 12 to 14, 2007Cold arctic air combined with an upper level storm system which moved through the Central Plains States produced accumulations of sleet across the central and eastern Texas panhandle.
- Winter Weather and Sleet in Texas, March 4 to 5, 2015A potent upper level storm system brought a glaze of freezing rain, sleet and snow to a large part of West Central Texas. Roads became slippery and many school districts closed schools on March 5th across West Central Texas.
- Ice Storm and Winter Weather in Texas, December 23 to 25, 2004The Rio Grande Valley of Deep South Texas experienced one of its most memorable Christmas Holidays ever. A rare combination of weather events developed last week that produced several inches of snowfall, which in itself is quite rare in this region.
- Ice Storm and Winter Weather in Texas, February 21 to 22, 2018An Arctic front dropped temperatures into the upper 20s and lower 30s, followed by overrunning precipitation, leading to significant amounts of freezing rain across the northwestern third of the forecast area.
- Winter Storm and Sleet in Texas, December 1 to 6, 2013A double shot of winter weather impacted north Texas during the day on the 5th and continuing into the 6th. Initially, wintry precipitation came in all forms, with freezing rain, sleet and snow.
