- Cold in Georgia, January 7, 1996A man died of hypothermia after the car in which he was a passenger went into the water near Hartwell Dam. He escaped the car and walked, apparently to seek help, toward the Ranger station. He was found later. It is not clear how the car ended up in the water.
- Frost and Freeze and Cold in Georgia, April 7 to 8, 2007A late season cold snap resulted in record cold temperatures across the eastern half of the United States with record cold temperatures for the month of April and record late freezes reported locally.|Univ of Georgia Ag Agent.
- Cold in Georgia, May 18 to 23, 2002Unseasonably cool conditions prevailed across north and central Georgia for several days as a large Canadian high pressure system anchored over the mid-Atlantic region and northwest flow kept the area dry and cool.
- Cold in Georgia, February 3 to 5, 1996A bitterly cold Arctic airmass combined with 15 to 20 mph winds produced wind chill equivalent temperatures in north Georgia between 5 above and 10 below zero on the afternoon of the 3rd. By the morning of the 4th they ranged from 5 below to 25 below.
- Cold in Georgia, June 1 to 11, 1997Unseasonably cool temperatures prevailed across north and central Georgia the first 11 days of June. High temperatures were in the 60s and 70s while lows were in the 50s and 60s. The resultant average temperatures ranged from 5 to 15 degrees below normal.
- Cold in Georgia, February 3 to 5, 1996Artic airmass encompassed entire Georgia CWA of NWSO CHS, causing record low temperatures. Also, this airmass produced measurable snowfall, up to one inch in southeast Georgia. This unusual event contributed to numerous minor accidents.
- Cold in Georgia, April 1, 1997Several cold snaps caused low temperatures to dip into the 20s and 30s possibly causing some damage to area crops.
- Cold in Georgia, January 6 to 7, 2014An arctic cold front blasted through northeast Georgia during the morning of the 6th, bringing gusty winds and the coldest air mass to have affected the region since 1994.
- Cold in Georgia, March 16, 2017The 2017 growing season began early across northeast Georgia, due to an unusually warm February and early March that saw average temperatures of almost 10 degrees above normal.
- Cold in Georgia, February 1, 2026Dangerous cold that began during the morning of the 31st across northeast Georgia continued through the morning of the 1st.

- Cold in Georgia, January 10, 1996A blast of Arctic air established new record low temperatures across the west-central portion of Georgia. At the Columbus airport, the mercury fell to 19 degrees setting a new record low for the 10th.

- Cold in Georgia, December 23 to 24, 2022An arctic cold front swept across the foothills and Piedmont of northeast Georgia during the morning of the 23rd and introduced the coldest air mass in more than 5 years.
- Cold in Georgia, November 11, 2025Behind a departing cold front, cold temperatures and elevated northwest winds combined to produce dangerously cold wind chill temperatures across southeast Georgia.
- Cold in Georgia, March 12, 1998The coldest air of the 1997-1998 winter set new record low temperatures of 19 degrees at Hartsfield airport in Atlanta and 20 degrees at Ben-Epps airport in Athens.

- Cold in Georgia, February 18 to 20, 2015A strong arctic cold front blasted through the southern Appalachians during the afternoon and evening of the 18th, bringing strong winds and bitterly cold air to the region.
- Cold in Georgia, January 1 to 7, 2018A large area of arctic high pressure slowly settled in over the Georgia mountains in the wake of a cold front that pushed through the area on 12/30, resulting in an extended period of unusually cold weather across the region.

- Cold in Georgia, August 1, 1997A new record low of 62 was established at the Columbus airport.

- Cold in Georgia, February 19 to 20, 2015A strong arctic cold front blasted through northeast Georgia during the afternoon and evening of the 18th, bringing strong winds and very cold air to the region.
- Cold in Georgia, January 17 to 18, 2018A cold arctic air mass built into northeast Georgia on the heels of gusty northwest winds developing west of a storm system moving up the Southeast coast. The gusty winds and cold air passing over a fresh snowpack resulted in low wind chills across much of the high terrain.
