The wind caved in a grain bin, blew off one quarter of a roof from a wood framed house, round hay bales were rolled across a field, and power poles were blown down between Geneva and Fairmont.

- Lightning Strike in Iowa, April 12, 2006Thunderstorms moved across northern Iowa during the early morning hours of the 12th. Though no severe weather was reported with the storms as they passed over Mason City, lightning did strike a house there.
- Lightning Strike in Indiana, April 12, 2006Lightning struck the transmission tower of WLZQ-FM, damaging the main transmitter beyond repair. Service was fully restored in early May. Damage estimates to replace the transmitter are around $100,000.
