What happened

The episode as NWS BOU wrote it up.

Large snow band moved across portions of the Front Range Urban Corridor and eastern Colorado plains which significantly impacted the morning commute. The brief burst of snow produced up to 2 inches of snow in one hour. Strong winds also accompanied the cold front as the snow squall moved across the area. A peak wind gust to 58 mph was observed at Denver International Airport from the northeast. Several road closures occurred due to numerous accidents caused by slick roads and poor visibilities. US 285 from southwest Denver to Bailey, SH 93 and US 36, I-25, I-70, I-76 were all impacted. Denver International Airport implemented a ground stop for nearly 90 minutes. Over 450 flights were delayed and several others were diverted to other airports. A section of SH 14 in northeast Weld County was also impacted by a snow squall and well as I-76 around Sterling.
