A narrow band of snow provided light accumulations in southeast Minnesota late on February 27th into the early morning of February 28th. While highest overall accumulation reported by volunteer observers was 2.0, accompanying wind gusts near 40 mph resulted in rapid reductions in visibilities as low as 1 mile at times at automated weather observation stations. The combination of strong winds and snow led to snow covered roadways. Multiple accidents were reported in southeast Minnesota through the morning of February 28th.

The combination of light snow and strong wind gusts from 35 to 45 mph resulted in snow covered roadways into the morning hours of February 28th. A light truck travelling west on County Highway 14 slid into the guardrail during the late morning of February 28th resulting in life threatening injuries to the sole occupant driver.

A transient band provided light snow and strong wind gusts of 35 to 45 mph in Mower County during the nighttime hours of February 27th. Minnesota State Patrol reported a van slide off and subsequent rollover along Interstate 90 eastbound in Pleasant Valley Township. Three of the four vehicle occupants were injured.
