A cold frontal passage resulted in a peak wind gust of 62 mph at the DOT station 9 miles north northwest of Vivian, and a peak gust of 61 mph on the Pierre Regional Airport Automated Surface Observing System. Additional wind gusts of 40 to 55 mph were recorded across central and north central South Dakota.
