An eastbound vehicle driven by an Ishpeming man lost control on the slushy road and collided with a pickup truck in the westbound lane driven by a Negaunee man.

An inch or less of slushy, wet snow led to a multiple-vehicle accident on US-41 near Teal Lake in Negaunee on the morning of the 6th at approximately 8 am. An eastbound vehicle driven by an Ishpeming man lost control on the slushy road and collided with a pickup truck in the westbound lane driven by a Negaunee man. The eastbound vehicle then struck another vehicle. The Ishpeming man sustained multiple serious injuries in the crash and was transported to UPHS in Marquette by ambulance for medical treatment. The Negaunee man sustained minor injuries and sought his own medical treatment. All vehicles involved in the crash were disabled and towed from the scene. The Negaunee Police Department was assisted by Michigan State Police, the Negaunee Fire Department, Bell EMS and Marquette County Rescue units. The highway was closed for approximately one hour on the morning of the 6th.
